If we can’t make jokes about dying, what’s the point in living?

 

Have you ever been in a situation where your body is whole,

but your soul is flying far away somewhere?

Have you ever woken up in a place you knew wasn’t your place,

but because it felt good, you chose to stay?

If you have, you’ve been dying then.

And were waiting for an expert to take the tool that supports your body to keep breathing.

 

In your new place, everything feels beautiful and real;

You have a warm family,

friends who love you,

no demands on the slightest thing,

your life is just perfect.

 

Nevertheless, your heart says otherwise.

Your soul forbids you to get too comfortable

and your body seems to be calling you to come back.

 

Should you?

Should you listen to them?

Or do you ignore it and the doctor actually takes your life tool and leaves you buried forever in the life you thought was perfect?

 

In fact, you woke up.

It took a long time and wasn’t easy, but you finally ran.

Leaving this pseudo perfect life behind

and your soul reunited with your body that you don’t seem to recognize with huge eye bags and body mass that you guessed it lost 5 pounds.

 

Finally, you rose from the dead.

Do we toast to that?

Not quite, only to celebrate.

You still have all sorts of pending and upcoming problems ahead of you,

but finally you can make a joke out of it.

 

You make jokes about dying

because now you’re alive.
